Brett has acted for clients in relation to Asia Pacific for over 20 years. Brett has practised in Hong Kong for more than 17 years.
Brett has counselled clients on strategies related to their acquisition and investment plans across Asia Pacific. He has handled complex negotiations of acquisitions, disposal and joint ventures. He has regularly managed counsel across multiple jurisdictions for varied projects and handled large scale due diligence projects. He regularly drafts and reviews sale and purchase agreements, joint venture and shareholders agreement and complex preference shares arrangements.
Brett regularly assists clients on regulatory and licensing issues related to operating in Hong Kong and China. He often advises on corporate finance and banking transactions. He has advised manufacturers, distributors, suppliers and franchisors with respect to their commercial contracts and arrangements.
Brett has represented private, listed and government owned corporations of all sizes, including Chinese State Owned Enterprises, across a board range of industries. Industries include retail, technology, healthcare, food and beverage and financial services. He has assisted both foreign companies with respect to their Chinese foreign direct investment strategies and Chinese clients with respect to their overseas direct investment strategies.
Brett is also Chairman of Feeding Hong Kong, one of Hong Kong’s largest food banks, and Chairman of Valley RFC, one of Hong Kong’s largest sporting clubs.
