Georgiou Payne Stewien LLP advises in respect of sale of Neat to Rapyd

Georgiou Payne Stewien LLP (GPS for short) represented multiple sellers in respect of the sale of Neat, a Hong Kong-based cross-border trade enabling platform for small and medium businesses (SMBs) and start-ups, to Rapyd, a global fintech-as-a-service company. Neat provides full company incorporation, business accounts, global payment collection and disbursements, as well as credit card-based capital expansion services and now joins with Rapyd’s global payments network.

David Rosa, CEO and co-founder of Neat, commented:

“Neat has been executing towards a vision of becoming the most popular payment platform for international SMBs. Joining the Rapyd family turbo-charges our capabilities and we are super excited about it. Our comprehensive business solution, high-touch support model, excellent onboarding experience and easy-to-use capabilities are an ideal complement to Rapyd’s world-class technology and global payments network. Together, this makes us a strategic partner to SMBs that want the freedom and ability to realize their own ambitions, regardless of their location or wherever they see business opportunities across the globe.”

Brett Stewien, the GPS partner who led the firm’s deal team, commented:

"It was great to support Neat and the sellers in achieving this significant outcome for all parties. We wish Rapyd and the Neat team every success in their new venture together”.

David Rosa further commented:

“Brett Stewien and the GPS team were highly effective and cost efficient, representing multiple sellers and helping execute this transaction under a fast paced timeline.

Brett has extensive experience working with firms in this sector, and his guidance was invaluable in this acquisition.”

Annalise Haigh, General Counsel of Neat, commented:

“This was an extremely important deal for Neat and will take it to the next level in terms of its payments capabilities and global expansion. For Brett and his team, the strong legal acumen combined with a highly commercial approach, really made an impact on this deal’s success. It was great to have strong external counsel support that we could really trust, being effective, efficient and fast.”
