GPS Legal LLP welcomes Mark Yeadon as a partner of disputes practice

We are delighted to announce that Mark Yeadon has joined our firm’s disputes practice as a partner with effect from 22 April 2025.

Mark brings with him over 40 years of experience advising on commercial litigation, investigations, compliance and regulatory matters in both Hong Kong and London. He is admitted in Hong Kong, England, BVI and Bermuda. He is also a CEDR accredited mediator with long experience of successfully resolving substantial disputes by mediation.

Prior to joining GPS Legal he spent 3 years as an offshore lawyer in Conyers' Hong Kong office where he led and developed its disputes and restructuring team. Before that he was a partner at Eversheds Sutherland, and its Head of Asia Litigation and Dispute Management for 11 years until 2021 and a partner and Head of the Hong Kong Litigation practice at Slaughter and May for 17 years until 2010.

Mark advises clients throughout Asia and specialises in the resolution of commercial disputes by court proceedings, arbitration and mediation, as well as advising on regulatory matters including judicial reviews. He has a wealth of experience advising multinational and domestic corporates, as well as prominent individuals, on a wide range of commercial and financial disputes in a variety of industries and countries. He has also advised major international and domestic banks, and private equity investors.  He has extensive experience of advising both regulators and regulated entities and individuals.

Sonny Payne, Partner and Head of the firm’s dispute practice comments: “Mark comes with an impressive track record and decades of experience which will further strengthen our position in the market. We are excited and committed to growing our capability in Asia and to continuing to deliver high-quality international commercial litigation services to our clients.”

Mark has been recognised as a leading lawyer in both Chambers and Partners and The Legal 500 for many years.

Mark comments: “I am very excited to be joining GPS Legal which has a well-deserved reputation for its excellent client service and commitment to achieving commercial solutions for its clients.

Independent boutique firms such as GPS Legal have an important role to play. I have spent my career with very large law firms. One of the features of these firms is that they have impressive client lists which mean that sometimes conflicts arise which necessitate finding alternative representation for an existing or potential client. The client is entitled to expect that whichever firm is recommended will deliver the same high quality of service. I am committed to contributing my experience to ensure that GPS Legal will always meets these expectations and that it will be high on any list of firms to be recommended to clients.

I am also committed to the use of mediation where appropriate to resolve disputes. I believe that mediation could and should be more widely used to resolve commercial disputes in Asia. I look forward to having opportunities to act as a mediator and support clients in mediations.”
